H.E. Sproul Ranch

Est. 1886

The Sproul Ranch was established in 1886 by H.E.’s grandfather, Robert Stuart Sproul. R.S Sproul drove cattle from Uvalde to Fort Davis, where hunting and cattle became the core roots of the ranch. H.E. Sproul’s father, Mac Sproul, was known for the 165 bears and 167 panthers that he killed. In 1986, Sproul Ranch was honored with a 100-year continuous agricultural production certificate. We continue to run cattle and hunt the land, carrying on the legacy that began in 1886.

H.E. Sproul Ranch is a historic cattle ranch offering guest suites, beautiful experiences, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Harvard Hotel and Lodge

Harvard Hotel and Lodge is a namesake after Harvard University. Back in 1956, H.E. Sproul leased land to the university to put a satellite on. When they did, the Harvard Lodge was built as a communication center for employees and work associated with the satellite. It became obsolete in 1986, and in the late 1990s, it was converted into our hunting lodge with the ranch rooms for hunters to stay in. In 2005, due to popular demand, our downtown location was built, and both ranch rooms and downtown rooms were opened to everyone.
